As a part of our Winterfest celebrations, we had an activity today that we like to call Stop, Drop and Read. For this activity, all students in the school venture out into the halls to walk around while music plays. When the music stops, we too have to stop, drop to the floor and read the books we brought along. Check out our pictures below. Which favorite book would you bring along to Stop, Drop and Read?

Can you guess which exercise each group is completing 100 of? Sorry this post is a little late! Even though I tried to lay low, the flu finally found me! Our 100th Day of School was a whirlwind of fun! We went skating, had a 100th Day snack, played Roll the Dice to 100, did 100 exercises and found 100 gold coins hidden around the classroom. Check out our pictures and videos below and let us know what you think... Here's what our One Breath Boxes word work should look like. The goal of this activity is for students to practice reading all of the words in the box quickly ("in a snap" is what I say), all in one breath...to encourage fluency in reading and writing. These would be very easy to make at home to use for extra sight word practice. All you have to do (or your child could even do it) is list a few sight words on slips of paper and have them practice. I will also post this on our Literacy page. Enjoy! We did so many different things today to celebrate Valentine's Day! We made Valentine Heart Animals, played Valentine Battleship, passed out Valentine Cards to our classmates and played Minute to Win It Valentine, a Valentine Obstacle Course. Check out our pictures and videos below and let us know what you think... Daddy! He is nice I love him. By Gracie
