Our Polar Express Day was a huge success and everyone had a marvelous time! Almost everyone was dressed in their PJ's. We read the story and watched the movie and, in between completed lots of activities related to the Polar Express (retelling the story; discussing the characters, setting, problem and solution; connecting the story to ourselves; sequencing the events in the story and a couple of classmate surveys. Lunch was also very yummy...Thank You! P.S.-there aren't a lot of pictures because it was such a busy day, but we hope you enjoy the ones we did get...

When we rehearsed yesterday, I took the opportunity to film our performance of Mister Santa, I've Been Good, knowing that I wouldn't likely get that chance this morning. Enjoy! Yesterday and today, we are exploring reindeer in our quest to learn more about the differences between fiction and non-fiction books. We make a pretty adorable-looking herd of reindeer, don't we? Our Family Traditions projects came in yesterday and they were marvelous! I enjoyed looking at each of them and listening to all the children present them. After we presented, we took some time to share them further with our classmates where we got to look at the pictures closer. Well Done!!
Don't forget to look for our Elves on your way to the gymnasium to watch our Christmas Concert tomorrow. Adorable! If you don't already have the iPad Elf Yourself app, you absolutely have to get it! It's hilarious! As part of our Friday centers last week, we did an art project called Elf Yourself, where students had a picture of their face and the materials to create an elf and they had to make themselves into an elf. At the iPad center, they also had an opportunity to play around with the Elf Yourself app. What fun they had!! Here's a video that one of the groups made... I just wanted to share 4 quick videos of some of our students performing their Santa's Stuck Reader's Theatre. They had a ball with it! :) |
