Reading to Someone is a favorite activity of ours...so much fun to share our great reading skills with someone else...especially a friend! :) Today, we completed a fun little patterning activity with Froot Loops. Students had to create their own Froot Loop pattern and glue the Froot Loops to their paper. Following that, they had to name their pattern with letters (for example ABC), numbers (for example 123) and colors (for example (purple, green, yellow). This was an excellent activity to 'show what you know' about patterns. Check out our pics below... Friday was International Talk Like a Pirate Day and to celebrate we did lots of different Pirate-themed activities. One of the favorites was drawing our very own Pirate Treasure Maps with our Learning Buddies. These maps had to follow a certain procedure. Students had to: 1. Draw it 2. Crumple it 3. Paint it 4. Dry it 5. Trace it They look awesome! Just like the real thing! This week's art project was Name Patterns. Students were given a blank piece of paper, asked to print their names in large letters, then asked to glue mini squares in a pattern of their choice over the letters of their names. During the first week of school, we collaborated as a class to come up with our very own Class Contract. Our Class Contract is a list of important things that we all need to remember to do each day to be safe and learn as much as we can. We have each signed our Class Contract and our signatures mean that we all pledge to follow these. Take a look...
